I wrote parts of it in the hospital and other parts at outpatient chemo. Four hours to sit and write! It was a dream -- until the Benedryl kicked in and all I wanted to do was nap. But I got it done, and it's here!

Fourth of July, Minus the Chemo Pole

I spent last Fourth of July watching the Macy's fireworks show from my hospital room in New York City. Well, I dragged my chemo pole across the room, sat on the ledge and pressed my face up against the window so I could see at least part of the fireworks. Read the rest on my Good Housekeeping blog.

Last June 30th, I was bald. Today, I was on national TV.

A year ago today, I shaved my head. Well, my husband did the shaving while I tried to make jokes about it so my friends and family who watched wouldn't feel sorry for me. After they left, I cried in the bathroom. Today, one year after I got bald, I had my photo taken by tourists… Continue

So Long, Angry God of Cancer

I decided it's time to stop writing about cancer every week on my Good Housekeeping blog. I just hope it doesn't anger the God of Cancer. http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/family/tweens/So_Long_Angry_God_of_Cancer

believes there's something cute and yet vaguely disconcerting to hear your nine-year-old wander around the house singing "Killer Queen."

I love that! Yeah, watching my six-year-old daughter belting out John Cougar's "Hurts So Good" does bring on some mixed-emotions...

Thanks Jen. Glad that you've got a clean bill. And what better way to remember it? With Dr. Phil....

I overheard my son telling my daughter that...thank Goodness that I did. He had not really opened up about the whole thing and it gave us the chance to talk about what was really scaring HIM. And he was transferring it to my daughter. We all hugged and had a good cry and I swore that I was doing everything in my power to beat the beast off but that I couldn't make any promises. Tough talk. It sucks that they have this in thier precious little lives.

Thanks again for you thoughts. And best to you and your family!

I think I've emailed the link to your book to every Mommy I know. They all loved it and plan to buy it. I'm waiting on my copy now. I can't wait to read it. :)

    Take care and stay strong,
