I need help to quit smoking!

Hi everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. It has been a while since I put a blog on my page here. I have been a smoker since I was a teenager. You would think with having had cancer, being pregnant and have a boy I would of quit somewhere in there but I still have not. It's 100% true when they say it's an addiction. When I was pregnant I tried quitting cold turkey and that last 6 hours. About a year ago I got a prescription for Chantix and that just curbed the amount I smoked it didn't make m… Continue

Wednesday, May 14th

Hi everyone. I hope everyone is doing well today and that you had a good day. My day was pretty good didn't do to much today. I had to run dinner out to my husband at work this evening. He was suppose to get off at 5:30 pm but his closing Assistant's daughter called and said her mom was in the hospital. So my husband had to close tonight. His Assistant called him later to say she was home that she has fluid around her heart and they put her on medication and that she can go back to work. My hus… Continue

Tuesday May 13, 2008

Well, finally it was a nice day today no rain. Me and my son Nicholas went with my parents to Darrenkamp's (a grocery store) which is not close to our house. On the way home we stopped in a few minutes to see my aunt & uncle. Nicholas had fun playing his great aunt's organ LOL. By the time we got home around 2:00 pm I got Nicholas some lunch and it was time for his nap. I also, laid down for a nap also. It seems I do that every day when he takes his nap by that time I'm worn out. He's such… Continue

Wide Awake

Well, I've been up since 3:00 AM. My legs were aching plus eating that pizza late at night didn't help. So I took some advil which hopefully will kick in here. The only real side effect that I've seen that I've had from the chemo/radiation is getting an ear ache just of course in the right ear the side the Hodgkin's was on. I was getting them almost every month. I told my Oncologist I think it stems from the radiation and he said that could be possible and he gave me a name of an ear, nose and… Continue

My Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Hi, my name is Renee and I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in September 2003. It took them almost 2 years to figure out what it was and I had to go through numerous biopsies before they finally found it. The symptoms I had was a lump at first at my shoulder and neck and after work every evening I was falling asleep and I was falling asleep in front of my computer at work. The first biopsy they said it was just like a fatty tumor they also did another biopsy with the same results. For a bit… Continue

My cancer is very rare. I am a case of one out of 10 in the world...yay for me. I found it when I was 11. My clavical was protuding a lot farther than it should have been and when I touched it I was in a lot of pain. After going through one doc to the other (and one diagnosis to another) i finally had a biopsy done and thats what they said it was.

Hey Renee

Hows you? My chemo was ok. Had only had a 2 week stay inhspital for and infection which they couldnt find, in the whole 6 months. My hair did all fall out which was extremely hard for me. As i am a real girly girl. It came out slowly which helped me. The main problem was that after i shaved my hair off which was around the 6th chemo session. I started to feel really anxious going for each treament. I would feel sick and a lot of the time i would vomit repeately before i even got my treatment. I was so nervous. They had to give me someting to calm my nerves. I would be crying for a couple of days before i got my treatment just with the thought of it. Even 5 months on my stomach flips if i think about it. I dont no what i will do if i have to go through all that again. Did you ever experience anything like that? They said it was quite common in younger patients.

Hi Renee thanks for getting back to me. Its funny you say you can remember the smell of the office. I can pick up the smell of antiseptic wipes and handwash they use to use. I cant stand it, it makes my stomach flip. Also i use to wear Jessica Parker Lovely perfume and i cant stand it now. Yea i have got burned from my radio on my face and neck. The redness on my face is fading but my neck is still pretty red. But the cream i have seems to help. How long did it take your redness to go down?
